We’re building up to Hip Hop History Month in November where we’ll be putting on a fresh programme to celebrate the sound that has inspired music and people since the 70s. We’re just as excited about the build-up and this month’s guest is a big part of that excitement. You’ll also get the Pushin’On DJs on a 2 hour back-to-back jam. And Pushin’On’s house band, the Mighty Mighty, debut another single that’s due to be on their EP slated for an early 2013 release. Let’s do it!
DJ Ritz has been blazing the local party scene with his diverse style of entertainment since the 2000s. He reads the floor like a psychic and cuts records like a Ginsu. He is known for spinning eclectic sets that can go soul to hip-hop, funk to dubstep and breaks to moombahton. Tonight, Ritz returns to the roots that has made him a top contender in DJ battles since 2002.
Pushin’On’s house band has been busy in the lab the past 2 months. Busy with songwriting for their upcoming EP slated for a early 2013 release. Last month, you heard two tracks, Beacon of Love & I’m Telling You Why. Tonight, they debut another track off the record PLUS covers of hot soul stompers from Wilson Pickett and Eli Reed.
Rounding off the musical trip are the Pushin’On residents. For the past 6 years, they’ve kept you on the dancefloor and made you wake up on many Saturday mornings with aching feet and sore heads. Tonight won’t be any different.
