Singapore’s toughest funk band! A 7-piece party machine playing some of the hardest funk, sweet soul and tender R&B from the 60’s to the 2000’s, Masterpiece & The Mighty Mighty is the house band of Pushin’On and Singapore’s answer to the JBs, the Meters and the Bamboos.
The outfit was formed by Masterpiece in 2010 to be the house band for Pushin’On after the sudden departure of the Lion City Orchestra. The band gave Pushin’On the energetic presence of ‘live’ music found in funk nights around the world such as Motherfunk (Edinburgh), Breakin’ Bread (London) and The Night Cat (Melbourne). Through its constant underground presence, the Mighty Mighty has been an integral part of building up the funk & soul scene in Singapore.
In 2011, the band re-energised itself with a new line-up and a more muscular sound; melting the rock, latin and go-go influences of its members into one steaming stew.
